Prakash Patel, 74, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital.
Born on October 3, 1951, in Ahmedabad, India, to the late Dasharathbhai and Anandiben Patel. Prakash, a man of deep familial love, had his days brightened by daily video calls to his relatives, ensuring that no matter the distance, his voice and laughter were ever-present comforts in their lives. He mastered the art of surprise, delighting in unannounced visits that brought waves of joy and a sense of closeness. Prakash loved to host parties that would be remembered for their warmth and spirited celebration, embodying the generosity and care he extended to all who knew him.
Prakash was known for his forgiving heart and generous spirit. Prakash helped everyone without expectation, and guided only by compassion and a sincere desire to make others’ lives brighter.
Prakash is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Kailas Patel; three daughters, Viral (Dev) Patel, Rima (Viral) Patel, and Jalpa (Mahesh) Patel; a son, Nilay (Helina) Patel; seven grandchildren; a sister, Sharmista (Jayanti) Patel; and a brother, Navin (Prafulla) Patel.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild and his parents.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
