Phillip Don Couch passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the age of 47. Born on August 11, 1977, in Paducah, Kentucky, Phillip was renowned for his infectious humor and his ability to befriend everyone he met. Phillip was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

An avid golfer and devoted deer hunter, Phillip spent many joyful days in the great outdoors. His passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers was unmatched, and he was often referred to as the "life of the party," a testament to his great sense of humor. His laughter and friendly demeanor will be profoundly missed by all. Phillip’s greatest joy and accomplishment was his family.

Those who knew Phillip will remember him for the warmth and laughter he brought into their lives. His legacy will continue in the stories shared by his family and friends, and the smiles he inspired will long be cherished.  Phillip’s absence will leave an irreplaceable void, but his memory will forever be a source of joy and comfort to those who loved him.

Mr. Couch is survived by his wife of 25 years, Laurrelle Lee Kirkham Couch; his daughter, Mallory Laurrelle Couch of Paducah; his son, Landon Phillip Couch of Paducah; his father, Malcolm Couch, Jr. (Betty) of Paducah; his sister, Tina Ann Myers (Larry Shanon) of Paducah; his brothers, Malcolm Ray Couch (Dawn) of Ledbetter and Tim Dale Couch (Amy) of Marshall County, Kentucky; Phillip was loved greatly as one of their own by his in-laws, grandmother-in-law, Jacqueline Laurrelle Bryant of Paducah; his father-in-law, Howard Douglas Kirkham (Susan) of Paducah; his brothers-in-law, Thomas Howard Kirkham (Stacy) of Paducah, and Timothy Douglas Kirkham of Ballard County; his nieces and nephews, Kelsey Couch, Crystal Faulk, Courtney O’Neal, Austin Couch, Ethan Couch, Johnathan Cowen, Matthew Cowen, Ashton Kirkham, Thomas “TD” Kirkham, Emily Glover, Nate Tidwell, Connor Kirkham, and Penny Kirkham; several great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Couch was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Hunter Edmonds Varnum; his stepfather Ed Varnum; his mother-in-law, Penny Lynn Hurst Kirkham; his grandparents Malcolm Sr. and Dorothy Couch, and Dean and Alma Edmonds.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Katie McKown officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025.
