Peggy Woodford, 82, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at her residence. Born in Paducah on March 3, 1942, to Clayton Alonzo Youngblood and Mary Elizabeth Helton Youngblood, Peggy’s 82 years were a testament to her thoughtful nature and devotion to her family.

Peggy's journey began and concluded in the community she so cherished, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and care. Her early years in Paducah shaped her into a woman who valued connection and service, witnessed through her years of dedicated work at the Shoe Factory, the MCL Cafeteria in Indiana, and her fulfilling role as a laundry manager in Huntsville. Peggy’s commitment to her faith was evident in her membership at Shady Grove Baptist Church and her attendance at New Life Baptist Church, where she nurtured her spirit and forged many lasting bonds.

In the heart of her home, Peggy’s kitchen was a haven of culinary love, each dish crafted with the same consideration she showed to all who were lucky enough to know her. She extended this caring nature beyond the confines of her home, raising sheep with the tenderness of a mother's touch, bottle-feeding them until they could thrive. Peggy found joy and solace in the simple pleasures of life, like the graceful flitting of hummingbirds around the 30 feeders she maintained, each one a symbol of her unwavering attention to the creatures under her wing.

Peggy's absence is profoundly felt by her cherished family, including her twin sister Betty (Charlie) Skowronek, sisters Joyce Youngblood Augustus, and Janice Weitlauf; her brother Alton “Sonny” Youngblood; and her beloved companion Otis Berry. Her warmth echoes through the lives of her adoring nieces and nephews, Becky (Paul) Marglin, Johnny (Connie) Bachuss, and Chris (Leslie) Augustus and many more, her great nieces Elle, Aubrey, and Caelyn Augustus, and her sister-in-laws, Mary Lou Woodford and Gail Youngblood.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Woodford, her brother Jimmy Youngblood, and her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Alan Morris officiating.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
