Patricia “Pat” Wallace, 77, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 12:37 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Providence Pointe of Paducah after a brief illness. She was born on January 23, 1948 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to the late Frank Larkins Miller and Ruby Jewell Allen Miller. Pat graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in 1966. She went on to graduate from Murray State University, earning her BSN in 1970 and MS in Human Services in 1977.
Pat was a Nursing Instructor at PCC/WKCTC from August of 1974 through May of 2010 and gained Professor with tenure status in 1997. She formerly worked at Western Baptist Hospital as a Staff Nurse and was Head Nurse of Pediatrics at Hopkins County Hospital in Madisonville. While at PCC/WKCTC she served on several committees, including Promotion & Tenure, Student Appeals Board, Program Development, Institutional Effectiveness, Nursing Division Learning Resources Committee, Chair of Science and Related Technologies Division from 1992-2000, KCTCS Professional Development and Planning and KCTCS Curriculum Development. Pat was a member of the National League for Nursing, the American Nurses Association, the Kentucky Nurses Association, and the American Association of University Women. She retired from teaching nursing in 2010.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Johnnie Wallace; son, John Kevin (Tara) Wallace of Sugar Land, Texas; sister, Pam Miller (Jim) Rafferty of Paducah, Kentucky; brother, Frank (Kimberly) Miller, Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Stewart Wallace and Amelia Wallace; sister-in-law, Glenda (Ronald) Phillips of Paducah, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by a daughter, Melodi Dawn Wallace; a nephew, Adam Miller, and her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Rev. Joel Jackson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
