Patricia A. Hanson, aged 86, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away on January 11, 2025, at her home in Ledbetter, Kentucky. Born on Wednesday, June 1, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, Patricia nurtured those around her with her caring and giving spirit.

An integral part of the Heartland Church community, she devoted countless hours to enriching the lives of children and sharing her unwavering faith. Patricia’s passion for young souls was only paralleled by her affection for animals and the delight she found in their company.

Her greatest source of joy, pride, and love in her soul, were her precious treasured Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren .  Each one of fifteen brought unique purpose to her life and inspired fond memories.  She delighted most in placing them at the center of her universe.  

Loved immensely by her family, Patricia's legacy is one of boundless love and selfless kindness. Those who knew Patricia will forever remember the strength in her actions, the compassion in her words, and the tender warmth of her smile. Her luminous heart has surely left an indelible mark on this world.

Mrs. Hanson is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Holmes of Ledbetter; her sons, Peter Hanson of Portland, Oregon, and Scott Hanson of Ledbetter; her sister, Linda Denton Alms (Maurice) of Belleville, Illinois; her grandchildren, Dustin Nehrkorn (Jill), Cassidy Nehrkorn (Todd), Winston Tyler Bell, Justin, and Stevie Holmes; her great-grandchildren, Krisjan Bell, Jackson Holmes, Liam Holmes, Lilah Holmes, Charlee Nehrkorn, Kylee Nehrkorn, Bryson Carns, and Oliver Carns; several Nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hanson was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Bruce Edward Hanson; her daughter, Patricia Hanson Nehrkorn; her son-in-laws, Timothy Holmes and Dennis Nehrkorn; her parents, Edward Curtis Denton and Myrtle Jeanette Geiser Denton.

A memorial funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Dr. Nathan Joyce officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service time on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah.

A private urn burial will be held at a future date.
