Norman David Lawrence, 80, of Mayfield, Kentucky passed away at 8:41 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health Lourdes. He was born in Paducah on August 16, 1944 to the late Willie Lee Lawrence and Lillian Watkins Lawrence. Norman retired from USEC as a Maintenance Planner after 25 years of service. He was a long-time member of Southland Baptist Temple where he served as an Usher, on the Board of Directors, Security Team, and in the Bus Ministry. Norman served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed camping, hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Norman is survived by his wife of 23 years, Merideth Ann Chapman Cavanaugh Lawrence; two daughters, Stephanie Jo (Robert) Duck of Paducah, Kentucky and Tammy Cavanaugh (Michael) York of Reidland, Kentucky; son, Joe C. (Tina) Cavanaugh of Mayfield, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Zachary J. (Tori Patterson) Hague of Huntsville, Alabama, Melissa Cavanaugh of Symsonia, Kentucky, David R. Duck of Paducah, Kentucky, Josiah McElmurry of Marshall County, Kentucky, Jackie Perry of Mayfield, Kentucky and Ally Green of Paducah, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera Franklin Lawrence; four sisters, Wanda Sue King, Elizabeth A. Dicicco, Martha J. Powell and Geraldine “Gerri” McMunn; brother, William Leon Lawrence and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Southland Baptist Temple with Rev. Larry Luffman and Rev. Jonathan Goodman officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and after 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2024 at Southland Baptist Temple.
