Noble Keith Brown, of Bardwell KY passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024 at the Hospice Care Center of Mercy Health in Paducah.
Mr. Brown was born on December 28, 1932 in Bardwell, KY to Jesse C. and Ruth Francis Brown and lived most of his life in Carlisle County on his family farm. After serving in the United States Army, Mr. Brown operated a Gulf service station in Murray. However, for most of his work life he was employed by the gaseous diffusion plant in Paducah. Mr. Brown had a gifted mechanical and electrical mind that enabled him to repair or improve just about anything he could touch. Though his regulations occasionally did not line up with those of the regulators, “Brownie” was the go-to person for many years at the plant in a host of areas. Even after his retirement from the plant, he enjoyed farming and gardening for several years, including growing a large watermelon patch from which he loved to share. In the late 60s, he was featured on the cover of Progressive Farmer magazine for being one of the first to implement no-till soybeans in western Kentucky by converting a traditional planter.
Mr. Brown was a long-time member at Arlington First Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, taught Bible classes and coached his children, grandchildren and countless others to excel in the Bible Drills. Most importantly, he instilled in those he encountered a love and example of devotion and dedication to God’s Word.
Known by most as Keith, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Beth (Stanley), whom he married on September 29,1957 at Southside Baptist Church in Paducah. Together they have children, Stanley (Pilar) Brown of Cunningham, Craig (LeeAnn) Brown of Cunningham and Stephanie (Stacy) Overby of Mayfield. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Amanda Campbell, Brooks Brown, Shelby Hicks, Carson Hancock and Ryan Overby and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Gary Jackson. In his later years, his extended family grew to include a special group of caretakers from Brightmore Home Care, who he cared for and treated almost weekly to ice cream excursions.
Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Ryan Overby officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service time at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
