Monte Peck, 86, recognized for his dedication to family and education, peacefully passed away on September 12, 2025, in Henderson, Kentucky. Born on March 3, 1939, in Benton, Kentucky, Monte grew up to touch countless lives with his warmth, wisdom, and generosity.
A devoted husband to his beloved wife, Barbara West Peck, Monte’s life was a testament to love and partnership. His legacy further lives on through his grandchildren, Mary Kate (Mary Hoffman) Bradley of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jacob (Sarah) Bradley of Princeton, Indiana, as well as his adored great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Charles, and William Bradley. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Peck; daughter, Anna Katherine “Kathy” Kaufman, and a brother, Don Peck.
Monte was a pillar in his community, cherished by friends, colleagues, and students alike. After a fruitful academic journey that began at Benton High School, he earned his Bachelor's Degree from Lambuth College and a Master's from Memphis State University. With a passion for nurturing young minds, he dedicated his career to education in the Paducah City School System. He made an indelible mark as a Biology teacher, as well as by guiding student-athletes as the Basketball and Golf Coach at Paducah Tilghman High School.
An avid fisherman and masterful woodworker, Monte could often be found creating beautiful pieces of furniture or enjoying the tranquility of the Barkley Lake. His joy for life was abundantly clear as he sped across the water on his boat, a testament to his adventurous spirit.
Above all, Monte believed in the beauty of spending quality time with his family. Whether at their lake house or simply at home, his heart was most full when surrounded by his loved ones.
Monte’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of many. Yet, those who were fortunate enough to have known him will forever carry with them the essence of his kindness, his unwavering integrity, and the memories of his heartfelt laughter. Monte Peck will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his influence and love continue to ripple through the lives he touched.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor, Jenny White officiating. Private burial will be held at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
