Milly Davis, Paducah, Kentucky passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. Milly was born on September 11, 1946, to James Edward Lester and Madge Ely Lester. Milly was a graduate of Benton High School in 1964 and attended Murray State University where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. Milly has been a Paducah First Baptist Church member since 1968 where she served in various capacities, including working with youth in Sunday School and camps. She directed the preschool program and helped organize church events as leader of the hospitality committee. In later years she served as the church Wedding Coordinator. Milly was director of the Lourdes Child Care Center for seven years. Milly had a heart for missions and participated in three overseas mission efforts, and she was also a volunteer with several local charitable organizations.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Mike Davis, one daughter, Jill Vessels and husband Justin, of Paducah; one son, Clay Davis of Memphis, Tennessee; two grandsons, Davis Glen Vessels and Grey William Vessels; and several cousins.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Brian Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time of 12: 00 p.m.
