Mikea Shane Smith, age 52, of Arlington, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2024, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Mikea was born in Paducah on April 21, 1972, to the late Carl Smith and Virginia Fraser McCutchen. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mikea worked as a riverboat pilot for many years, most recently with Fitzgerald Marine. He loved to be on the water as much as possible. Mikea was an avid sailor as well as enjoyed going on the lake with their pontoon. He was a very talented when it came to working with his hands. Mikea was a gifted artist who loved to paint portraits and landscapes as well as building model cars. He was also a great mechanic and was always able to help others.
Mikea is survived by his wife, Tressa Smith of Arlington; his son, Curtis (Tesla) Smith of Arlington; two sisters, Carla Bivens Smith of Dawson Springs and Charla Benson of Clinton; four grandchildren, Isabelle, Anna Marie, Mikea, and Raiden Smith; his father-in-law, Frankie Allen and his mother-in-law, Debbie Mathis; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Bro. Joe Vance officiating.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the service time of 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the funeral home.
