Mickey Black, age 69, of Paducah passed away at 6:38 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2021 at Baptist Health Paducah. Mickey was of Baptist faith and a native of Athens, AL. Mickey was an avid Alabama football fan, loved to hike, travel with family and do some woodworking. Mickey stayed busy and on the move with his careers, especially with his travels of 20 plus years in the U.S. Army and after that career, he became a nurse and that was his final job serving people throughout his life.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Teddy Sue Meadows Black, two daughters, Holly Black (Brian) Moore, and Sara Rebecca Black both of Paducah; one son, Eric Michael (Gina) Black of Kennesaw, GA; mother, Mary Catherine Brooks Black; one brother, James Robert (Wanda) Black, Rogersville, AL; eight grandchildren, Dylan Michael Black, Logan Thomas Black, Samuel Eric Black, Alexandria Lopez, Aidan Lopez, Elle Moore, Jakob Guajardo and Connor Guajardo; many nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was his father, Hughie Thomas Black.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military rites. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
