Michael Lee Deaton, age 65, of Melber, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Mike was born on November 28, 1958 in Mayfield, Kentucky to the late Peggy Deaton Coleman and Billy Houston Deaton. He graduated from Paducah Tilghman HS in 1977.
Mike recently retired after a long career in sales from Zebra Graphics. Mike loved his friends and family along with sports, sports cars, UK Wildcats, Green Bay Packers and he was a doting Poppy to his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his scrappy, quick witted personality and his ability to always have a positive outlook on life. He was outgoing, personable and had a great sense of humor and will be missed dearly by his many friends and family.
Mike is survived by his long-time partner, Sandy Burchard of Melber; his daughter, Brittany Walters (Jason) of Wickliffe; two brothers, Bill Deaton (Tracie) of Paducah and Keith Deaton (Andi) of Indianapolis, Indiana; stepsister, Kathy Wray of Paducah; stepson, Clay Reynolds of Murray; stepdaughter, Brittany Sipes (Mackenzie) of Benton; five grandchildren, Marley Croghan, Kenneth Walters, Jack Sipes, Luke Sipes and Cole Sipes; and two nephews, Jon Deaton and Aaron Deaton; and several cousins and childhood friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Deaton and Peggy Deaton Coleman, and one stepbrother, Terry Carson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes with Bro. Daniel Fraser officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes.
