Michael Edwin Scott 69 of Paducah passed away peacefully at Mills Manor in Mayfield on Sunday, June 23, 2024.  He was born on April 22, 1955 in Paducah, KY to Warren Edwin and Betty Jean Abanatha Scott.  

Michael Edwin Scott was retired and a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a beloved legend in our community and affectionately known as the "human jukebox," he leaves behind a legacy of music and love that spanned over 51 years. His sweet, soulful voice and passion for entertaining touched the hearts of many.

Michael's musical journey began in a high school garage, where he formed the Midnight Special with Steve Denton, Johnny Parham, and Ronnie Steakley. This humble beginning marked the start of an illustrious career that saw him playing with a myriad of talented artists across the country. His performances were not confined to local stages; Michael's talent and charisma led him and The Blue River Band to the prestigious Grand Ole Opry, a testament to his exceptional skill and dedication.

Throughout his career, Michael was known not just for his musical prowess but also for his generous spirit and unwavering love for his community. He was more than a performer; he was a friend, a mentor, a comedian, and an inspiration to all who knew him.  Michael's legacy will continue to live on through the countless memories he created and the lives he touched. His voice may be silenced, but the echoes of his music and the warmth of his soul will forever remain in our hearts.

He is survived by his daughters, Lynsie (Darren) Talbert and Heather (Reggie) Waters both of Paducah; his mother, Betty Scott of Paducah; his two sisters, Melia Wood and Mindy (Todd) Hawkins both of Paducah; a brother, Myron (Christi) Scott of Paducah; five grandchildren, Camden Tyler, Maddilyn Tyler, Mary Beth Talbert, Lucas Waters and Gabby Waters; his loving devoted girlfriend, Delilah Vail of Benton and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Edwin Scott; his grandparents, Bill and Lucille Scott and Roy and Odell Abanatha and a niece, Emily Smith.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Mickey Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cunningham.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

His countless fans who will miss him dearly. Rest in peace, Michael Edwin Scott. Your song will never be forgotten.
