Marylan Annette Malloy Lester, 75, of Arlington, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation in Bardwell.
Marylan was born in Vivian, Louisiana on November 30, 1946 to the late Hubert and Helen Whitehurst Malloy. She was a very talented woman who loved to spend her free time sewing, decorating cakes as well as many other fun crafts. Marylan also loved to cook and can. Mostly, she loved raising her children and grandchildren. Marylan worked for over 13 years for Chrysler Automotive before retiring.
Marylan is survived by her five daughters, Marylan Annette (Floyd) Taylor of Adkins, Iowa, Marchella Anawanette (Lawrence) Claar of Joplin, Missouri, Malinda Anne Barnhart of Arlington, Mary Adrionette Estes of Arlington and Mariam Amelia McLain of Madison, Wisconsin; one brother, Hubert Franklin Malloy, Jr. of Pickerington, Ohio; one sister, Lynnetta (Steve) Christman of Shelbyville, Illinois; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lester, sister, Rhuene Schumaker; one grandchild, one great-grandchild and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Columbus with Rev. James Lee officiating.
