Mary Lee Anderson, age 85, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023 in Claremore, Oklahoma. Mary Lee was born in Paducah, KY on December 24, 1937 to the late Joseph W. Felts, Sr. and Thelma Louise Kaufman Felts. She was the third of their ten children. She married William “Bill” Anderson on December 24,1975. They were married for 44 years before his death. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Mary Lee was a native of the St. John Community. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and attended St. John School. Mary Lee loved organizing and planning events for work, church, and family. She volunteered on many committees and church activities, (St. John Parish, Knights of Columbus). She was an excellent cook and provided numerous meals for the priests and families within the communities where she lived. She shared a very close loving bond with her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family, family bonfires, and weekly family gatherings. She loved watching UK Basketball. Mary Lee retired in 2003 after 25 years with Cole Lumber Company where she worked in Accounts Receivable. She was a member of WIC (Women In Construction). She and Rita Brey of Plains, WI were close pen pals for 72 years during which they spent many enjoyable visits with each other.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna Romaine Wood of Bedford, IN, Patricia Gayle Romaine Steinhouse (Terry) of Lubbock, TX, Kimberly Ann Romaine Olive of Chouteau, OK; two sons, Timothy Wayne Romaine (Laurinda) of Claremore, OK, Scott Anderson (Gale) of Murray, KY; five sisters, Dolores Reed O'Nan (Albert), Jeanne Abell (Dart), Phyllis Sims (Van), Kathy Hibbs (Mike), Betty Conkwright, all of Paducah; 17 grandchildren, David "Bryan" Culver Jr. (Laura), Jacob Romaine (Taylor), Bradley Fuller (Bonnie), Cristina Steinhouse Cho (Kyeyong), Stephanie Carnes (Dylan), Joshua Romaine (Madison), Eric Steinhouse, Charlotte LeeAnn Wood Stockton (Brian), Justin Romaine (Elizabeth), Anna Steinhouse, Kevin Olive, Christopher Olive, Hayley Bradford Castle (Craig), Lindsey Bradford (Bobby), Chip Bradford (Natasha), Logan Anderson and Lucas Anderson; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph and Thelma Felts; husband, William E. "Bill" Anderson; one sister, Carol Ann Osborne; three brothers, Joseph W. “Sonny” Felts, Cletus A. Felts, Harold D. “Sappy” Felts; one daughter, Keresa (and husband Wes) Bradford ; one great-granddaughter, Natalie Castle
Services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John Catholic Church with Father Bruce Fogle officiating. Burial will follow at the St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with prayers at 4:15 p.m.
