Mary Frances Hunt, passed away peacefully at the age of 99 in the comforting care of Life Care Center of La Center, Kentucky, on October 29, 2024. Born in Ballard County, Kentucky, on January 3, 1925, to parents Bradley Owen Boulton and Flora Hobbs Boulton, she was a cherished sister to her many siblings. She now reunites with her beloved husband, Dr. Jesse Martin "JM" Hunt, Jr., and her siblings, who preceded her in death.
Frances was known affectionately as the matriarch of a loving family, which includes her devoted daughter, Deborah Yarbrough of Gage, Kentucky; and her three sons, Stanley (Beth Ann) Hunt of Wickliffe, Kentucky, Anthony (Pamela Jo) of Barlow, Kentucky, and Darren Hunt of Kevil, Kentucky. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren, Shantona (Terry) Doublin, Rebecca (Donnie Jr.) Hall, Ross (Adrianne) Hunt, Jesse Martin (Stephanie) Hunt, III, and Emily Ann (Chelsea) Hawkins; along with seven cherished great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her endless joy and pride.
France's life was a testament to service and community involvement. A dedicated member of Wickliffe First Baptist Church, she shared her faith through teaching Sunday School and Bible School. Her commitment to her community was further demonstrated as the past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, and through her valued contributions as a member of the Ballard County Homemakers, a Board Member of the Ballard County Extension Office, and as a nurturing 4-H Leader.
As an artist with a passion for beauty, Frances painted murals at the Wickliffe First Baptist Church Family Life Center, capturing the essence of her spirituality and artistic skill. Gardening and photographing flowers were among her favorite pastimes, showcasing her appreciation for the splendor of nature. Further embodying the archetype of a true caregiver, she found deep joy in mowing, tending her garden, and delighting in the company and well-being of children, especially her grandchildren.
Those who knew Frances would describe her as loving, passionate, and faith-filled. She was a beautiful soul, outgoing, and tough with a strong will and a heart that believed in the goodness of all. Her disciplined nature was balanced by a compassionate spirit, making her a very special and strong Christian lady whose impact will be felt for generations.
