Mary E. Kopecky, 74, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation in Bardwell, Kentucky.
She was born on March 12, 1951, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, to the late Victor Edmund Lango and Marie Irene Mezzanotte Lango. Mary dedicated herself to her work and cultivated a career of exceptional service. After many years of diligent work, she retired as an Executive Assistant from America Honda Motor Company. Mary’s passion for fiber arts knew no bounds. With nimble fingers and an artistic eye, she created beautiful, textural masterpieces through spinning, weaving, crocheting, and knitting. Her work was more than a hobby; it was an expression of her inner joy and creativity.
In addition to her love for fiber arts, Mary was a dedicated and successful breeder of Pomeranians. Her dogs were not merely pets but were members of her extended family, showered with love and devotion. Countless hours spent grooming, training, and showcasing her Pomeranians led to many accolades across various competitions in California and Missouri.
Mary is survived by a stepson, Matthew (Melissa) Kopecky of Calvert City, Kentucky; and a cousin, Tom Mezzanotte of Connecticut.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Kopecky; and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on October 24, 2025, at Bardwell Baptist Church with Bro. Jason Burnett officiating.
