Manher Jadavji Mehta (Mike Mehta) was born on September 16, 1937 to the late Jadavji and Maniben Mehta in Bombay (Mumbai), India. He was known as Manubhai in India, where he spent the first 28 years of his life. In 1965 he came to the United States on a student visa. May of 1967, he met Louise Crews in Glendora, California and married her on September 29th of the same year. They were married for 57 years.

Together they have three children Leona, Jonathan, and Timothy. The three of them will always remember their father as someone who lived out his life helping others, looking for ways to serve, staying consistent with his character, being a man of integrity, and devoting himself to doing the right thing.

In 1980, he became a naturalized citizen of the United States.

He spent thirty-one years working for Westvaco Pulp and Paper Mill in Wickliffe, Kentucky. He was a reliable man with a strong work ethic. His colleagues referred to him as having a mechanical mind like no other and could fix anything.

Throughout his life he was known for saying things like, “Don’t worry about that,” “Money is no object,” “I love you,” “I’m proud of you,” “By the grace of God,” and, “God helped me all my life.” He was a man who loved Jesus and devoted himself to prayer. Everything he did was rooted in his love for God and serving others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, all his brothers and sisters: Mohanlalbhai, Shantaben, Hakemchandbhai, Vijyaben, Sharadbhai, and Prabhaben, and his in-laws Jesse Loranzy and Mary Laverne Crews.

He is survived by his dear wife Louise Mehta; children Leona, Jonathan (Marsha), and Timothy; grandchildren Savannah (Greg), Trista (Brandon), Sydney, Houston, Laura, and John (Jackie); great-grandchildren Rayden, James, Serephina, Briaunah, Hunter, Brittney, and Marshall; several nieces and nephews, and other family members both residing in India and the United States. He will never be forgotten by those who know and love him.
