Luther Smith

Luther Smith, 79, of Dixon, Kentucky, went to be with our Lord and Savior, his mom, dad, brothers, and all other loved ones on August 27, 2022 at 7:30 p.m at Clinton Place in Clinton, Kentucky.
 
Luther was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on November 15, 1942 to the late Cecil and Elsie Mooneyham Smith.  He was of the Baptist faith.  Luther served in the Navy on the first nuclear submarine, the USS Nautilus (SSN-571) from 1961-1968 and was granted a Presidential citation by President John F. Kennedy.  He was offered a government job with the Tennessee Valley Authortiy in Chattanooga, Tennessee while on military leave in 1968.  He accepted the job with TVA and worked there unitl his retirement in 1987.
 
Luther is survived by a brother, Fred Smith of Cleveland, Tennessee; a nephew, Gary of Oklahoma; and his significant other, Joyce Null of Dixon, Kentucky.
 
There are no services scheduled at this time.  Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
