Lt. Col. Steven W. Bohannan

Steven W. Bohannan, age 72, of Eddyville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his home.

Steven was born on Friday, May 16, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri to Alvin and Lucille Bohannan. He dedicated 23 years to military service, with valor during Desert Storm, and pursued higher education to achieve a Master's degree in his field. He was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for thirty five years. Steven's career was marked by a deep commitment to serving his country and caring for his fellow soldiers with both skill and compassion. Beyond his professional life, he and his wife Gwen shared a love for travel, and he was proud to have gotten to visit the beaches of Normandy in 2019. Steven loved history, music, family and his dogs.
 
His legacy is one of unwavering dedication, intellectual curiosity, and a life lived in the service of others. Lt. Col. Bohannan's memory will be cherished and honored by all who knew him.
 
Mr. Bohannan is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gwendolyn “Gwen” Stamper Stroud Bohannan; his daughter Erin Bohannan Weiss (Mark) of St. Louis, Missouri, and  stepdaughterS, Alisha Bellas of Mountain View, California, and Amy Nicole Stroud of Santa Rosa, California; his son, Ethan Bohannan (Masha) of St. Peters, Missouri; his sisters, Janet Crachiola (Dan) of Sarasota, Florida, and Gail Lylerla (Keith) of Columbia, Illinois; his brother, David Bohannan (Jean) of Kenasaw, Georgia; his grandchildren, Madison Bohannan, Nicolas Bellas, Hayden Weiss, Finley Bohannan, and Micklin Bohannan; his great grandchild, Braxton Burgess.
 
A memorial service with military funeral honors will be held in the future at Arlington National Cemetery.
