Linda Lou Peddie, 71, passed away at Baptist Health Paducah on November 20, 2024. Linda was born on the 9th of July, 1953, in Tiptonville, Tennessee to the late Roland and Hallie Rodgers.
Throughout her life, she was an active member of the Eagles Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), organizations through which she served and supported her community with unwavering dedication and enthusiasm.
Among her friends and family, Linda was known as the "social butterfly" who truly never knew a stranger. Her genuine interest in people and her knack for conversation meant that she left a trail of smiles wherever she went. It was this quality that also made her the "cool" grandma—a title she wore with a blend of pride and humbleness. Laughter was a gift she gave freely, and it is a legacy that will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew her.
Also celebrated for her culinary skills, Linda was a very good cook, whose tables were always a magnet for friends. Her dishes were more than mere meals; they were an expression of her love and her way of nurturing the bonds she held so dear.
Linda is survived by her husband of 27 years, Robert Bruce Peddie of Wickliffe; a daughter, Stephanie (Mike) Mix of Clarksville, Tennessee; a son, Jamie Lee (Sara) Matney of Wickliffe; a sister, Ann Harris of Charleston, Missouri; a brother, Allen (Carol) Rodgers of Charleson, Missouri; and a sister-in-law, Pat Rodgers, of Dexter, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Eugene Matney; a sister, Sue Jones; and two brothers, Thomas Rodgers and Roland D. Rodgers Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Rev. Larry Potts officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Illinois.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m. on November, 25, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe.
