Linda Lindsey, a quiet servant of others and a devoted member of Reidland Baptist Church, passed away peacefully at Baptist Health Paducah on March 22, 2025, at the age of 84.

Born on March 15, 1941, to the late James Richard Hancock and Anna Mae Leidecker Hancock, Linda Kay was the second of six siblings. On July 10, 1960, she married her lifelong sweetheart, Wayne Lindsey, and together they shared 55 years of marriage grounded in faith, hard work, and love.

Linda lived a life defined by humility, devotion, and service. She was never one to seek the spotlight, but her steady presence and loving spirit touched everyone around her. Whether preparing meals for farm crews and church events, tending to her flower gardens, or offering a quiet word of encouragement, Linda gave generously of herself in countless unseen ways. Her strength was quiet, her laughter easy, and her love for family unwavering.

With her infectious laughter and quick wit, Linda was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. Her hands, skilled in the kitchen, prepared meals that brought nourishment, warmth, and joy to both family gatherings and church events. She proudly supported the family farm - driving the grain truck and feeding the crew, who always looked forward to her hearty dishes.

An avid bridge player, Linda’s competitive spirit and sense of humor made her a joy to be with at many gatherings. Her love for nature and her green thumb were evident in her beautifully kept lawn, vibrant flowers, and dedication to gardening.

Linda Lindsey’s legacy of love, genuine care, and spirited generosity will resonate forever in the hearts she touched.

She is survived by one daughter, Marketi (Glynn) Perry of Danville; one son, Neal Wayne (Karla) Lindsey of Paducah; three brothers, John (Jackie) Hancock of Paducah, Joe (Phyllis) Hancock of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Jerry Hancock of Paducah; four grandchildren, Bryce (Erika) Perry of Danville, Blake (Natalie) Perry of Nicholasville, Aaron Wayne Lindsey of Albany, New York, and Aleah (Josh) Gregory of Paducah; six great-grandchildren, Logan Perry, Landry Perry, Lawson Perry, Rylee Perry, Rhys Perry, and Isla Gregory; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Lindsey; one sister, Rebecca Harrison; and one brother, James Richard Hancock, Jr.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 1:30 P.M. at Bethlehem Cemetery near Sharpe, Kentucky, with Dr. Brad White officiating.

Visitation will be held at Reidland Baptist Church from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., with a funeral procession departing the church immediately afterward for the graveside service. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is overseeing all arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Reidland Baptist Church, 5559 Benton Road, Paducah, KY 42003.
