Lewis Allen Allmon, Jr.

Lewis Allen Allmon, Jr., age 96, of Paducah, passed away peacefully at 7:47 am on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at his home while listening to scriptures being read to him from the book of Psalms.
 
Lewis was born in Paducah on March 9, 1928 to the late Lewis Allmon, Sr. and Hazel Throgmorton Allmon.  He was a faithful member of Victory Assembly of God for over 18 years and lived for the Lord most his life. Lewis loved his church family, especially his Pastor, Gary DeRossett and his wife, Joyce, as well as many surviving friends and some who have gone before him. He also loved the many nurses who have been with him over the past few years while he has been home bound. He was very fond of them all, as they were of him, as he was a very kind patient to work with.    
 
Lewis was a member of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union and worked for 36 years at Martin Marietta before retirement on December 31, 1987.  He spent many years teaching young men in the community valuable skills through his time as Troop Leader with the Boy Scouts of America Troop #2. 
 
Lewis is survived by his brother, Norman (Dorothy) Allmon of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; his special friend, Janet Robinson, of Cookeville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Shelley Crump of Charlotte, North Carolina and Kevin Allmon of Sheriden, Michigan; three great-grandchildren, Brittany Allmon, Kyle Crump and Tyler Crump.
 
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Page Allmon; his second wife, Dorothy Allmon; three sons, Bobby, Kenny and Larry Allmon; his sister, Melba Followell; and his parents.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Gary DeRossett officiating.  Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah. 
 
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the service time of 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the funeral home.
