Lawrence Ernest Hayden, a cherished individual known for his vibrant spirit and kind heart, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in Paducah, Kentucky.

Born on June 28, 1928, to the late Fabian Francis Hayden and Elizabeth Lois Elder Hayden, in Graves County, Kentucky. Lawrence led a life filled with dedication, serving as a chemical operator for USEC and proudly as a member of the United States Army. He carried with him an unwavering passion for life's simple pleasures, finding joy in the tranquility of gardening, the thrill of a good game of rummy, and the strategic depth of checkers. Lawrence's love for these pastimes was only matched by the love he shared with those around him. As we commemorate and honor his legacy, Lawrence will be remembered as a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew him. His enduring kindness, laughter, and charming wit have left an indelible mark that will be treasured forever.

Lawrence is survived by a daughter, Andrea Berschied and her husband, David of Paducah; two grandchildren, Kim Berschied of Benton and Jennifer Record and her husband, Aaron of Paducah; three great-grandchildren, Robert Frensley and his wife, Carley, Dorian Record, and David Record; a great-great-granddaughter, Charlie Frensley; two sisters, Charlene Brown of Sterling Heights, Michigan and Erlene Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Nora Hayden; two sisters, Ann O’Connor and Hazel Thomas; and four brothers, Joseph Hayden, James Hayden, Harold Hayden, and Charles Hayden.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Father Gary Clark officiating and Father Paul Berschied concelebrating. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Mt. Carmel cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Prayers will be said at 7:00 pm.
