Laverne Dukes

Laverne Dukes, age 93, of La Center, Kentucky, passed away at 8:56 P.M. Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Life Care Center of La Center.
 
Laverne was born in Livingston County, Kentucky on Friday, August 22, 1930 to Roy and Katie Wring. She loved to crochet and cross stitch, creating many beauiful afghan blankets.
 
Mrs. Dukes is survived by her daughters, Linda Young (Mike) and Karen Chapman (John) all of Paducah, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Brent Young (Shannon), Krista Bandy (Chad), Misty Young and Kara Doughty; her seven great grandchildren; her two great great grandchildren.
 
Mrs. Dukes was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Lonnie Dukes; her parents, Roy Elmo Wring and Katie Lee Crouch Wring; her sister, Betty Jean Wring Brown; her infant brother.
 
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Tommy Williams officiating. Burial is scheduled for 3:00 P.M. following the service, at Tiline Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the funeral home.
