Laurel Henderson

Grace Francis Laurel Samples Henderson, 93, of Barlow, KY,  died at her home on Sunday, October 24, 2021. 
Laurel was born Dec. 29, 1927 in Berwind Canyon Camp, CO.  Laurel graduated from La Center High School, Class of 1944. She married her high school sweetheart, Cloys K. Henderson, on Sept. 3, 1944, and they celebrated 73 years of marriage prior to his death in 2016. 
Laurel was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she helped with community events until she was unable.  For 30 years, Laurel was a nurse at Life Care in La Center, KY. Upon her retirement she volunteered at His House in La Center. She enjoyed traveling the country with her husband and relished in spending time with her friends, family, and cat. 
Laurel is survived by her daughter;  Ann Mullins of Barlow; a son, David Henderson (Gloria Jean) of Wickliffe; granddaughters, Staci Henderson of Bowling Green and Christy Henderson of Wickliffe; grandson, Corey Henderson (Tara) of Wickliffe; daughter-in-law Lyn Anderson of Barlow; two great grandchildren, Anna Grace Thompson and Colby Kendal Henderson; and several nieces and nephews. 
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased in death by her son, Paul Henderson; her sister, Dorothy Nell Brookshire.  Her parents were  Richard and Marguerite Bondurant Samples. 
Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. 
Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Wickliffe is in charge of arrangements.
