Larry Allen Elrod, aged 73, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024, at Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital. Born on February 14, 1951, Larry dedicated 43 years of his life as a respected Supervisor at Westvaco Paper Mill, where his leadership and work ethic left a lasting impact.
Larry was a true outdoorsman with a passion for shooting, hunting, camping, and fishing. Annually, he eagerly attended the Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, never missing a year for over four decades. His love for the outdoors was matched by his expertise and enthusiasm for everything nature offered.
Larry is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janice Kay Elrod; one son, Shannon Wayne Fisher (Angie) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; one stepdaughter, Julie Linn Burroughs (Nick) of Hardin, Kentucky; two sisters, Debra Hair of Mayfield and Mary Lou Wurth (Charlie) of Cunningham; five grandchildren, Justin Kingston, Kaitlynne Fisher, Kristen Fisher, Nicole Schriver (Scott) and Brianna Van Vleet (Zackery); seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Betty Elrod, and one sister, Tammye Elrod.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at McKendree United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Mary Lou Wurth officiating.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
