Lana Carole Holifield (Robertson), 82, passed away on August 17, 2024, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Born on September 18, 1941, in Paducah, Kentucky. Lana's presence will be dearly missed by family, friends, and all who knew her.

Lana lived most of her life in Paducah, Kentucky before moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico.  While in Paducah Lana graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School, Murray State University and retired from a twenty-six-year career teaching elementary school. Lana had a zest for learning new things. She participated in the Teachers in Space Program, golfed with friends, painted at her easel, gardened with a passion, quilted beautiful quilts for her grandchildren and loved to learn new recipes. She cherished her time traveling with her husband and friends. When she was not busy, you could find her curled up with a good book to prepare for her book club meetings. Lana loved her Paducah and Santa Fe communities. She volunteered her time with the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, church guild and was a member of the Santa Fe Garden club.

Lana is survived by her daughter Julie Holifield Madrid and husband Julian Madrid. Her grandchildren Grace Sandoval and Cole Sandoval of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her son Joseph Edward Holifield and wife Charlotte Holifield of Ventura, California. Her grandchildren Maya Holifield and Caesar Holifield of Los Osos, California, step-grandchildren Julia and Natalie Schermer. Her brother Ed Robertson (Susan) of Florida, her niece Kate Ford of Virginia and nephew Casey Robertson of North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Donald Holifield, mother Mildred Robertson and father Edwin Robertson.

The family would like to extend a "thank you" to the many friends who have supported Lana the past few months. The MorningStar Assisted Living community that not only took care of her but gave her extra love. Lana expressed her appreciation for the extra attention, love and kindness of the many people that helped her.

A service was held at The Church of the Holy Faith in Santa Fe, New Mexico in September. Lana will return to Paducah to be laid to rest next to her husband. A graveside memorial will take place on October 13, 2024, at 1:00 in the afternoon at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Paducah, Kentucky.
