Heaven gained an angel on September 4, 2024, when Kimberly Jo Ross Wilson was welcomed home.
Kim was born on October 23, 1966 on her parents wedding anniversary. She is the daughter of Dorothy Ross and the late Joe Ross of Bardwell, Kentucky. Kim graduated from Carlisle County High School in 1984, Murray State University in 1988, and Spaulding University in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2006 with a BS in Nursing and received top honors in her class. She gave the commencement address at her capping ceremony.
Kim was a missionary with the International Service Corps in Lagos, Nigeria, and Lome, Togo, West Africa, from 1999 to 2001. She has worked as a NICU nurse at the University of Louisville Hospital since 2006. Kim was a member of the Highview Baptist Church in Louisville. She loved to travel and has been all over the United States, as well as Spain, Mexico, Jamaica, Egypt, and most recently, Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, and Puerto Vallarta.
Kim is survived by her mother, Dorothy Ross; a sister, Cathy Ross Ahlvin (Mark); a brother-in-law, Robert Upton (Meg); a niece, Lori Upton Simmons, and a nephew, Rob Upton; four great-nieces and one great-nephew. A very special person in her life was Wayne “Chip” Gibson.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jo Ann Ross Upton, and her father, Joe Ross.
A private family service will be held at later date, with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Bardwell. A Memorial Service will be held in Louisville on October 20, 2024.
