Kay Ivitts, 83, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, at the Ray & Kay Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health Lourdes. Born on January 8, 1943, in the same nurturing community, Kay's life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to her family, her faith, and her entrepreneurial spirit.
Kay's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her son, JD (Amy) Pullen of Paducah, Kentucky; daughter, Joy (Tracy) Rimpel of Princeton, Texas; step-sons, Bobby (Margaret) Ivitts and Jimmy (Tana) Ivitts, both of Paducah, Kentucky; step-daughter, Vicki Sue (Jeff) Lee of Crofton, Kentucky; and sister, Martie Noles of Highland, Illinois. She was the proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, BJ (Mandy) Ivitts, Scott Pullen, Rachel (Ryan) Oliver, Stephen (Chan) Pullen, Melvin (Jennifer) Davenport, Trey Pullen, Ben (Megan) Gill, and Colson Lee Ivitts, and the great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren, Carter Ivitts, Avery Ivitts, Hunter Davenport, Maddox Oliver, and Tate Oliver. Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Ivitts; her daughter, Penny Pullen; her son, Tony Taylor; and her parents, Wayne Trevathan and Gladys B. Fleming Trevathan.
A respected businesswoman, Kay was the retired Owner and Business Manager for Ivitts Plumbing, where she applied her acumen and warmth to serve her community. Her professional achievements were matched by her commitment to her faith. As a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church, Kay found joy in working in the kitchen, serving meals with a smile that could light up the room. She also attended East Baptist Church and was a former member of Buckhead Ridge Baptist Church in Okeechobee, Florida.
Kay's interests were a reflection of her loving and thoughtful nature. She was a fabulous baker and enjoyed cooking for her family, creating memories with every meal. Her scrapbooking captured the precious moments of her life, and her love for playing Bingo was well-known among her friends.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Charter Senior Living, the Palliative Care team, and the Hospice staff for their compassionate care. Special thanks are also given to her Buckhead Ridge Church family, her Bingo friends, and especially to Khamphou and Jason for their unwavering support.
Kay Ivitts will be remembered as a woman of great love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Her gentle spirit and generous heart have left an indelible mark on the lives of those she touched. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by the many lives she enriched with her presence.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bob Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
