Judy Hall, age 77, of Wickliffe, entered Heaven’s embrace on November 6, 2024, after a brief illness.
The daughter of Wilburn and Irene Jones, she was born March 1, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, but soon moved to Kentucky. She grew up in Wickliffe, and attended Wickliffe High School. She fell in love and married Donnie Hall on August 24, 1963, a joyful marriage that lasted 61 years. During that time, she saw the birth of her daughter, Tammy and her son, Don. She had childcare in her home, and worked outside the home at Waldschmidt’s Lumbar Company, the Property Valuation Office, and as a City Councilwoman for the City of Wickliffe.
However, her true calling was in caring for people. She never met a stranger and genuinely loved everyone. She would give what she had to those in need and had empathy that could stretch to the whole world. Everyone who knew her found her warm and happy. She saw to the needs of her family, always giving of herself, making home a place of contentment. She enfolded the lives of her extended family and many dear friends with the same warmth and love.
She enjoyed reading the Bible and watching comedies. She was always interested in the pursuits of her grandchildren and her friends in Cape Girardeau, never failing to attend activities when she could including bingo in Cape Girardeau.
She will always be remembered with a ready smile, concern for everyone, and leaving a conversation with, “I love you.”
She is survived by her husband, Donnie; her daughter, Tammy (Keith) Graham of Jackson, MO; and her son, Don (Rebecca) Hall of Kevil, KY. Her grandchildren, Chelsea (Austin) Bannister (nee Graham), Will Graham, and Alexis Hall were the focus of so much of her life, and they sorely miss her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Deloris Beardsley and Berna Morgan.
Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe are in charge of arrangements with visitation at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Dee Hazelwood officiating. Burial will follow at Wickliffe City Cemetery.
Expression of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
Although we are so sad to lose her, she would ask that we not grieve, but rejoice, as she has escaped the cares of the world for the comfort of Heaven.
