Joyce Taylor Scott, died at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center on September 5, 2024, after a long illness. She lived in Lone Oak from 1965 - 1970 and returned in 1992.
Joyce was the daughter of Oliver and Cassie Adams Taylor of Pilot Oak, Graves County, Kentucky. She married Bobby B. Scott on January 12, 1958, and together they lived in many communities across the United States, as well as in South Korea.
Joyce was an active member of Lone Oak United Methodist Church and greatly enjoyed the companionship of the women in the Lydia Circle. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a lifelong learner and worked in the education, legal, financial, and the insurance industries. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, reading, flower gardening and garage sales. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Scott was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, and her parents. She is survived by three daughters, Renee Jones and her husband Craig Jones of Zionsville, Indiana, Rhonda Witwer of Forsyth, Illinois and Robyn Scott of LaVergne, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Mallory Jones of Washington DC, Taylor Jones DeGiulio and her husband Brian of Ferndale, Michigan, Amanda Witwer of East Lansing, Michigan and Jack Jones of Chicago, Illinois; and two great grandchildren, Vivian and Calvin DeGiulio of Ferndale, Michigan.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A memorial service at the Lone Oak Chapel will follow at 11:00 am. All Participants are invited to Lone Oak United Methodist Church, following the service, for lunch.
