Joyce T. Harp died peacefully on December 14, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.  She was born on May 21, 1939, in Kuttawa, KY to the late Woodrow L. and Bobbie Springs Teague.

Joyce's early life led her to Murray State University, where she graduated with a degree that would enable her to share her love of books with the world. Joyce's career as a librarian at St. Mary Elementary School allowed her to touch the lives of countless children, fostering in them a love for reading that would last a lifetime. In addition to her professional work, Joyce served diligently as the librarian for the Twelfth Street Baptist Church. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she expressed it through her service to her church community. She taught Girls Sunbeams, sharing stories and lessons that would shape young minds with the same care and attention she gave to her beloved books.

Joyce managed the bookkeeping for the family-owned Harp Auto Repair Business for over two decades. She loved to crochet, creating beautiful pieces that were as warm and inviting as her personality. She was also an avid reader, embracing technology with her Kindle, which allowed her to carry her library with her wherever she went. Joyce left behind a legacy of service, education, and love for the written word.

She is survived by a daughter, Kerry Harp (Greg) Compton of St. Peters, MO; her two sons, Paul (Arnee`) Harp III of Vine Grove, KY and Nicholas Harp of Orlando, FL; her five grandchildren, Hunter B. (Brittany) Harp, Tyler B. (Raven) Harp, David (Jamie) Compton, Melissa (Ken) Lahm and Mark (Gretchen) Compton; a sister, Debbie Lassiter of Murray, KY; her eleven great-grandchildren, Harlow Harp, Jessica Harp, Ridley Compton, Peter Harp, Kylie Compton, Ella Rose Harp, Owen Harp, Henry Compton, Harper Lahm, Evelyn Compton and Eliza Lahm along with several nieces and nephews.
