Joyce Ann Wooley, of Boaz, KY went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 29th, 2025. Joyce was born to her parents, Roy and Lucia Stancil in Paducah on October 1st, 1939. In 1956, she married her husband of 65 years, Paul Wooley.
Joyce was known for her devoted love to her husband and family. Much of her time was spent ensuring the needs of her family were met. She was well known for her cooking, and always maintained a spotless house as well as making sure her children had everything they needed for their day. Often from morning to evening she was involved in ensuring meals were cooked and everyone always “had enough to eat”. Most importantly, her greatest concern as a mother was her desire to see her three sons come to know Jesus as their personal savior.
Her life typifies a few scripture verses:
“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household…She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” Proverbs 31:10-12,15,27-28
Joyce is survived by her three sons, Michael Wooley, Wife, Kathy of White House, TN, Mark Wooley, Wife, Mary Ann of Granville, IL, and Darrell Wooley, Wife, Melissa of Spring Hill, KS; Eleven grandchildren, Joshua Wooley (Amanda), Matthew Wooley (Rayna), Sarah Williams (Jeremiah), Thomas Wooley (Chalie), April Wooley, Becky Eastman (Chris), Melissa Stevens (Justin), Lindsey Christensen (Eric), Stephen Wooley, Joanne Anderson (Carson), Andrew Wooley; and twenty great-grandchildren.
