Joseph Michael “Mike” Hancock, age 82, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 7:33 P.M. Friday, September 22, 2023 at Baptist Health Paducah.
Mike was born in Sebree, Kentucky on Sunday, November 24, 1940 to Fletcher and Evelyn Hancock. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, running marathons, researching genealogy, playing the bagpipes, and the trips that he and Brenda took to Scotland, Ireland, Canada, Hawaii, and Switzerland. Mike will be remembered for the love he had for his family.
Mr. Hancock is survived by his wife of 60 years, Brenda Faye Bratcher Hancock; his daughters, Beth Benton (Ronnie) of Searcy, Arkansas and Deborah Ward (David) of Chickamauga, Georgia; his son, Benjamin Hancock (Sarah) of Paducah; his brothers, John Bruce Hancock (Cecilia) of Littleton, Colorado and David Lee Hancock (Patti) of Reidland, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Jennifer Andrews (Nick), Cameron Ringenberg, Alexandra Spugnardi, Keely Rose Spugnardi, Hannah Jordan (Jack), Emma Ward, Joel Ward, Lauranna Hancock and Lochlann Hancock; his great grandchildren, Wallace and Brooks Andrews; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hancock was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher Lee Hancock and Evelyn Hart Bruce Hancock; his sister, Suzanne Seigfried.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Katie Minnis officiating. Burial with Military Funeral Honors, will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the funeral home.
