Joe K. Scott, age 81, Calvert City, Kentucky passed away at 3:03 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, at Baptist Health Paducah. Joe was born on September 17, 1943, to William Arnold Scott and Fredonia Lucille Cullen Scott. Joe grew up in Carlisle County, Kentucky, and graduated from Murray State University with a bachelor’s degree. He was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church and was retired from Air Alloys and Air Products where he worked as a lab analyst. Joe was an avid genealogist who loved researching his family. Joe was known for his sweet, gentle nature.
Survivors include two sons, Jason Evan Scott (Joely), and Matthew Warren Scott, both of Paducah, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Madison Dayne Scott, Nicholas Alexander Scott, and Benjamin Joseph Scott; one great-grandson, Liam Josiah Jewell; one brother, Paul Maurice Scott, Sacramento, CA; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were his wife, Lois Marie Miller Scott; parents; three sisters, Josephine Pickett, Gracie Elaine Bergstrom, Barbara Nell Scott; two brothers, Warren Edwin Scott, and Jerry Steven Scott.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Rev. Todd Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethlehem Church Cemetery in Carlisle County. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
