Jimmie Dale Bristoe passed away on January 15, 2025 at the age of 81. Born on June 30, 1943, in Barlow, Kentucky, Jimmie was known for his generous spirit and passion for automobiles.
Jimmie earned his reputation in the auto industry through his years working as manager at Billy Bells Auto and Paint Shop and as the owner and operator of Bristoe Automotive. His love for cars extended beyond his work, as he was an active member of the National Street Rod Association and a respected judge at many car shows. On most days you could find him at his pond feeding the fish and outside enjoying the wildlife that shared his property with him.
He was a member of the Heartland Worship Center. Jimmie's faith was as strong as his love for drag racing. He shared his automotive passion by building cars with his grandson, embodying the role of a big brother to all. He cherished serving on the pit-crew of many drag racers. Jimmie's caring and helpful nature was evident to anyone who knew him, and his legacy will be cherished by many. Those who knew Jimmie often say that he would give you the shirt off his back.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Lang (Willie) of Paducah and Jennifer Rye of Hopkinsville; five sisters, Dorothy Green, Glenda Newton, Rita Brown, Phyllis Franklin, and LaWanda Brown; five grandchildren, Michael Thomas, Victoria Riggs, Devin Davis (Courtney), Mason Rye, and Alex Lang; nine great-grandchildren, Gavin Thomas, Aubrie Lee, Hunter Lee, Gabe Davis, Octavia Davis, Able Davis, Luke Lang, Hadley Lang, and Tyler Lang; several nieces and nephews.
