Jimmy Carman, age 78, Paducah, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, at Baptist Health Paducah. Jimmy was born in Paducah, Kentucky, on January 11, 1947, to James Howard Carman and Margie Stokes Carman. Jimmy was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from ICG Railroad, where he worked as a Boilermaker. Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Army.
Jimmy's hobbies included watching dirt races and NASCAR, hunting, and his twenty-two years of going to Florida fishing. Jimmy loved his family and grandchildren being around for their drop-in visits.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joyce Woodford Carman; one daughter, Joanne Hobgood (Shane); three sons, Gregory Dale Carman (Jessica), Louis Carman (fiancée, Lesa Rogers), both of Lone Oak, KY, and Jamie Carman, Midland, Texas; one sister, Sherry Downs, Paducah, KY; two brothers. Ricky Carman (Shari), Lone Oak, KY, and Terry Carman, Paducah; nine grandchildren, Melanie Hobgood, Matthew Hobgood, Abby Warmowski (Patrick), Allie Jackson (Dustin), Nikki Wilkins (Cody), Jen Robbins (Bub) Cory Carman (fiancée, Rebekah), Max Carman, (fiancee’, Kimberly) and Zara Carman; 22 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were two grandchildren, Lyndsey Nicole Carman and J.T. Carman, parents, one sister, Jan Wadley, two brothers, Ronnie Carman and Mike Carman.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. James Wright officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Burial will follow at the Liberty Cemetery in Folsomdale with Military Honors.
