Jerry L. Culp, a cherished member of the Paducah community and a man of deep intelligence and varied interests, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, at the age of 77.

Jerry was Born on August 21, 1946, in Cardwell, Arkansas, to the late, John F. and Opal White Culp.  He was known for his dedication to his career as a draftsman, a role he performed with precision and passion at Gresham Architect in both Paducah, Kentucky, and Nashville, Tennessee. His meticulous nature and creative mind were evident in the blueprints and plans that bore his mark, contributing to the skylines and landscapes he helped shape. His professional life was further enriched by his involvement with the Jewish community, where he found both spiritual fulfillment and a sense of belonging.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jerry was a man who truly knew how to savor life's simple pleasures. He found joy in casting a line into the water, waiting patiently for the telltale tug of a fish. He was often found with a book in hand, lost in the worlds between the pages, or deeply engrossed in a strategic game of chess. Jerry's love for the beach was profound, and he could frequently be seen gazing at the horizon, watching the sunrise paint the sky with hues of hope and promise.

Those who knew Jerry will remember him as a man of intelligence, someone who approached life with curiosity and a gentle determination. His presence was a gift to those around him, and while he will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue to inspire and influence the many lives he touched. Jerry's journey through life was one of purpose, joy, and an unwavering commitment to the things he held dear. His memory will be treasured and kept alive in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Janice Scott Culp; seven children, Patrick Culp (Sherry) of Lexington, KY,  Jamie Culp (Nok) of Nashville, TN, Cory Culp (Jennifer) of St. Louis, MO, Zachary Culp of Nashville, TN, Jason Luton (Deborah)of Metropolis, IL, Timothy Luton (The) of Maui, HI and Jason Carper (Darla) of Paducah; fifteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
