James Ray Figley, age 80, of Cunningham, formerly of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at his home.
James was born in New Madrid, Missouri, on May 16, 1944, to the late John and Mable Figley. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Arlington. James was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing for crappie and catfish on his family farm. When he was home, James enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Professional Wrestling with his family. He will be remembered as a loving and caring family man who put his children and grandchildren first.
James is survived by three daughters, Amy (Mark) Bradford of Cunningham, Tammy Ballard (Kevin Gupton) of Cunningham, and Shelby Sherwood (Jeremy Wilkes) of Cunningham; four sons, Clifton Figley or Cunningham, James Figley of Cunningham, Tony (Amy) MaGee of Boaz, and Jacob (Britteny) Sherwood of Cunningham; one sister, Glenda Brown of Paducah; 15 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vickie Sue Figley; second wife, Frances Jones Figley; two daughters, Tonya Moss and Paula Figley; two sisters, Sharron Morrison and Doris Stockman; a brother, Eugene Figley; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the service time of 2:00 pm on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the funeral home.
