Howard “Wayne” Wyatt, 69, of Dexter, Kentucky, passed away at Murray Calloway County Hospital on January 30, 2025, when he joined his loving wife, Peggy, along with other family members in heaven.
Wayne was born in Marshall County, Kentucky on October 14, 1955, to the late Howard “Lightening” Wyatt and Jessie Miller Wyatt. He was a hardworking man who spent many years working as a truck driver, most recently for Fitts Block and Ready Mix before his retirement. When he wasn’t working, Wayne enjoyed fishing, collecting various items, and finding things he could tinker with and work on. He was a jack of all trades and a man who could fix just about anything. No matter who you were, he would be there to help if you ever needed him. Wayne also had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed joking and cutting up with others any chance he could. More than anything else, family was the most important thing to Wayne. He was a fantastic husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his two daughters, Amy Davenport (Carl “Bill”) of Dexter, Kentucky, and Amanda Harness (Rodney) of Benton, Kentucky; one son, Shawn Wyatt Davis (Pamela) of Hardin, Kentucky; eighteen grandchildren, Sharanda Wyatt, Dominique Johnson, Calvert Johnson, Elexia Lee, Me’Ka Davenport, Cameron Davenport, Abigail Davenport, Ethan Lee, Ja’Nathen Lee, Amiya Lee, Kaleighona Lee, Gabby Shultz, Hannah Harness, Hunter Harness, Wesley Harness, Breanna Kimbro, Mathew Kimbro, and Cieara Lima; several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Bohannon Wyatt; his sister, Helen Maness; his four brothers, Robert Mason, Roy Mason, Steve Mason, sr., and Ron Wyatt; and two grandsons, Alex Davis and Chase Davis.
