Helen Rebecca Farrell left this world on September 1, 2024 at Charter Senior Living under Hospice Care with her family at her side. She was born in August of 1934 in Pennsylvania to the late Helen DiBonaventura and Samuel Galt. Helen had recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends.

Helen grew up in Pennsylvania where she met & married her husband John (Jack) Farrell. They lived in New York and Virginia before moving to Kentucky in 1972. She admired the beauty of the world, finding great pleasure in nature and growing flowers. She also enjoyed animals; her dog, Sargeant York had a special place in her heart. She loved her family, especially the babies, and always welcomed a visit. She had a great sense of humor and an unmistakable twinkle in her eye.

Helen is survived by her four children, John (Sandy) Farrell of Santa Fe, NM, Michael (Cecelia) Farrell, Helen/Missy (Stan) Eckenberg, and James Farrell of Paducah; by her nine grandchildren Laura (Rob) Farrell, Shannon (Shaikat) Farrell, Kelly Farrell, Bridget (Ben) Farrell, Patrick (Zoe) Farrell, Alex (Angela) Farrell, Mary Farrell, Erin Hendley, and Sarah (Will) Hendley Ferraro; by her 3 great- grandchildren Jemma and Jack Duffey, Norie Farrell. She is also survived by her half-sister Lina (Gary) Smith and half-brother Billy DiBonaventura and by several nieces and nephews including locally, great-nephew Brian (Amy) Farrell.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years John P. Farrell; two infant daughters, Donna and Frances Farrell; her parents, Samuel Galt and Helen DiBonaventura; her step-father, Francis DiBonaventura; and her brother Samuel Galt.

The family would especially like to thank the staff and residents of Charter Senior Living for their unceasing love and support of “Miss Helen”, her 24-hour caregiver team who supported her both day and night the last 2 months, and Hospice for her loving care.
