Helen June Willis Watson passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024, at the age of 79, in the comforting care of Clinton - Hickman County ICF Nursing Facility. Born on August 25, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, Helen lived a vibrant life characterized by her entrepreneurial spirit and musical talent.

 

Helen’s nurturing nature was evident through her dedicated work as the owner and operator of Ms. Helen's Day Care, where she touched the lives of many families. Her melodious voice found a home as the lead vocalist in the Harmonette's Quartet, and her membership in the Shiloh Baptist Church was a testament to her faith and community spirit.

 

A creative soul, Helen found joy in sewing, skillfully crafting clothing, blankets, draperies, and dolls. She was revered for her feisty, sweet, and loving demeanor and adored her children and grandchildren. Helen's legacy of love and her passion for life will be cherished in the memories of all who were blessed to know her.

 

Helen is survived by three children, Angelia Lee of Arlington, Don Howell of Calvert City and Jody Willis Howell (Kurtricia) of Mayfield; three sisters, Theresa Orth of Colorado, Lola Williams (Marvin) of Bardwell and Carol Barendregt of Bardwell; two brothers, Lester Willis of California and Mike Willis of Columbus; six grandchildren, Carrie Howell, Ethan Howell, Hannah Riley (Josh), Noah Lee (Kennadee) Gavin Howell and Jean Howell; and six great-grandchildren, Jackson Little, Brie Little, Adley Little, Madison Quimby, Nolan Riley and Ella Jane Lee;

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of ten years, Kenneth Ray Watson; her parents, Lester Alfred Willis and Agnes Ruth Gibson; and two sisters, Barbara Courtney and Brenda Willis; and her son-in-law, Craig Lee.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Bro. Gaylon Bruer officiating.  Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service time on Tuesday, Ocober 1, 2024 at Shiloh Baptist Church.
