Adelheid "Heidi" Marie (Stempel) Ballard went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
Heidi, as she was known to friends and family was born August 4, 1944 in Bamberg, Germany. Heidi married a US Army man, left her homeland, and began her life and family in Paducah, Kentucky. Heidi was an active member of the St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Paducah, Kentucky, a Duchess of Paducah, a Kentucky Colonel, and a Life member of the VFW women’s auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, William Ballard; two sons, Michael (Cynthia) Ballard of Lone Oak, Kentucky and Robert (Char) Ballard of Symsonia, Kentucky; one daughter, Debbie (Dave) Villegas of Charlestown, Indiana. She leaves behind five grandchildren, Clay (Alicia) Stevens, Robby (Kelsey) Ballard, Victoria (John) Alford, Mark Ballard (Meredith Fickey) and Jimmy Morris; seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind three sisters whom she loved dearly although countries apart, Berta Reissig, Gunda Fuchs and Kathe (Joachim) Schroter; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was her parents, Johan Ludwig Stempel and Marie Lerner Stempel; one sister and two brothers.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce Fogle officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until service time of 11:00 a.m. at the St. John Catholic Church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
