Greg Hampton, 67, passed away at his home surrounded by his family, friends and fur baby, Billi on September 21, 2024, in Paducah, Kentucky.
Greg was born on November 9, 1956, to the late, Charles and Sue Fleming Hampton in Pontiac, Michigan.
A retired electrician, Greg devoted many years of service to Local 816 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), and was of the Church of Christ Faith.
Greg's life was a testament to the values instilled in him as an Eagle Scout, a title he carried with pride throughout his life. His love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him, as he spent countless hours in the serenity of nature, hunting and fishing. The thrill of dirt track racing captured his imagination, while his passion for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team provided endless excitement and joy.
Greg is survived by his wife, Meleasa Salsbury Hampton; a daughter, Leigh Johnson of Kirksey; his step-sons, Josh Hicks (Renae) of Paducah, Derek Ellis (Victoria) of Mayfield and Cory Heflin (Adriana) of Paducah; three grandchildren, Madeline, Jace Charles and Kolbie; nine step-grandchildren, Blake, Dylan, Austin, Kyler, Kenzie, Wilder, Owen, Sophie and Olivia; two sisters, Suzie Atherton (Steve) of Paducah and Julie Scott (Derek) of Paducah; brother-in-law, Kevin Headrick of Paducah; two nieces, Hanna Scott and Jackie Headrick; a nephew, Kyle Atherton.
Above all, Greg's heart belonged to his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with his wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Mike “Hammer” Hampton and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Justice Shea Nickell officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, September 27, 2024 and on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10:00 am until the service hour of 12:00 noon at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
