Gladys Faye Powley, 76, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Baptist Health Paducah.
Faye was born in Paducah, Kentucky on March, 9, 1947 to the late Raymond and Gladys Jaunita McLeod Kimbro. “Mrs. Faye”, as she was known to everyone, was a faithful member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and her life centered around serving and taking care of children. She was a full time children’s care worker at Lone Oak First Baptist Church and Paducah First Baptist Church. Mrs. Faye lived out her Christian faith daily. She always put others before herself. She was a very giving person, displayed a servant’s heart, and was kind and compassionate to everyone she met. When she wasn’t taking care of children, she loved decorating her yard, taking care of animals, and traveling. Her favorite expression was “CHOOSE JOY” in every situation. Mrs. Faye adored her family dearly and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Mrs. Faye is survived by her husband of 56 years, Danny Powley; daughter Michelle Wells (Darren) of Paducah; two sons, George Powley (Valerie), and Lenny Powley (Aundrea) of both of Paducah; Sister-in-law, Donna Woleben of Paducah; four grandchildren, Devin Copeland of Winfield, Kansas, Lenny Copeland (Tonya) of Paducah, Connor Wells of Paducah, Kirsten Butterbaugh (Adam) of Paducah; and four great grandchildren, Tristan Copeland, Lily Copeland, Marissa Butterbaugh, and Adalynn Butterbaugh.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Steve Moore officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Church Cemetery
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
