Georgia A. Russell

Georgia Anne Russell of Cunningham, Kentucky, passed away on February 5, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born on June 1, 1946, in Mississippi County Missouri, to John & Leona Laster. Georgia graduated from Charleston High School, Class of 1964. Upon graduation she began working in the banking industry. In 1968, she married Travis Russell and moved to Kentucky. Georgia was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church. She invested in her community through the Cunningham Homemakers and the United Methodist Women. Georgia was an exceptional Christian lady whose hobbies included crafting, painting, and sewing—skills that she poured into every piece she created. After time as a stay-at-home mother, she obtained her nursing degree and worked as a registered nurse until retirement.

Georgia is survived by her husband; two daughters, Stephanie (Rew) Sloan, of Franklin, Tennessee and Amanda (Jeremy) Bartholomew, of Milan, Tennessee; one son, Jason Russell, of Chapmansboro, Tennessee; one brother, Johnny (Bonnie) Laster, of Sikeston, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Hayden Claire Sloan, Gabrielle Bartholomew, and Owen Bartholomew.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell. Burial will follow at Sikeston Gardens of Memories in Sikeston, Missouri.
