Anita Gayle Hayden, age 75, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on September 30, 2026. She was born on February 19, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and quiet strength.

Gayle was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy came from her family. She embraced each role with love and tenderness, and those who knew her will remember the warmth she brought into every room. Her family was the center of her life, and she found deep happiness in the simple, meaningful moments shared with those she loved most.

She worked for many years as a retired office secretary, where she was known for her dependability, professionalism, and gracious manner. Gayle approached her work with care and dedication, and she earned the respect of those who had the privilege of working alongside her. Her steady presence and thoughtful nature made her a valued part of every place she served. However, the job she loved most was being a nanny to Shelby and Sydney, who became a cherished part of her extended family.

Gayle was also a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Her church community was an important part of her life, and her faith provided comfort, guidance, and strength throughout the years. She valued the fellowship and sense of belonging she found there, and her presence was appreciated by many.

Among her many joys in life was her beloved dog, Princess, who brought her companionship and happiness. Gayle also enjoyed scrapbooking, a pastime that allowed her to preserve cherished memories and express her creativity. She took pleasure in the details of life and found meaning in keeping special moments close to her heart. When she wasn’t working on her scrapbook, you could find her cheering on the Louisville Cardinals basketball team or attending Kid Rock concerts, both of which she truly enjoyed.

Her sister, Linda, was her absolute best friend. Their bond was one of deep love, trust, and lifelong companionship. Gayle treasured that relationship dearly, and it remained one of the most important parts of her life. The love they shared was a source of comfort and joy through the years. Gayle was a single parent who devoted her life to raising her son, loving him with her whole heart and soul. When he married and later blessed her with a granddaughter, her family finally felt complete.

Gayle is survived by one son, Bruce Hayden (Jeannine) of Panama City Beach, Florida; one sister, Linda Hagan of Louisville, Kentucky; one brother, Larry Barmore of Lexington, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Melissa Ann Hayden of Acworth, Georgia, along with her beloved extended family, Sydney Sims and Shelby Smothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Bob” H. Barmore, Sr. and Juanita Francis Winrich Barmore-Matlock, and her brother, Robert H. Barmore, Jr.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Marshall County Memory Gardens with Pastor David Appold officiating.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
