Gary L. Thomas, age 76, of Arlington, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Gary was born in Mayfield, Kentucky, on November 12, 1947, to the late Louis and Ruth Wright Thomas. He was a member of the Mississippi Baptist Church in Bardwell and a United States Army veteran who served his country in Vietnam. Gary was a passionate horseback rider for more than 30 years. He rode trails throughout the United States and had a spot at the Hayes Canyon Camp Ground for over 22 years. Gary played golf almost daily with lifelong friends at Ballard County Country Club. He will be remembered as a funny and outgoing man who loved his family and friends with his whole heart.
Gary is survived by his wife, Pam Thomas of Arlington; his son, Clay Thomas of Arlington; two sisters, Alecia (Harry) Alvis of Paducah and Mary Jayne (John) D’Orazio of Southport, North Carolina; a brother, David (Cheryl) Thomas of Jackson, Tennessee; a grandson, Matthew D’Elia; and several nieces and nephews.
His brother, William W. Thomas, and his parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Bro. Glen Stewart and Bro. David Hendon officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Bardwell.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the funeral home.
