Gail Fox Ashburn, 71, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 3:18 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2024 at her residence.

She was born on July 16, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Gervice Fox and Rosemary O’Grady Fox. Gail was a retired editor and one of the original 6 employees of Schroeder Publishing. She was a devout member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church where she worked tirelessly as a sponsor ushering new members into the faith.
 
Gail is survived by her son, Dr. Joseph Ashburn and wife, Heather of Metropolis, Illinois; daughter, Chrissy Love and husband, Ross of Brentwood, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Christopher Roland, Carter Roland, Lily Ashburn, Hannah Love, Harper Love and Hazel Love; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Noreen Foster and husband, Bob of Paducah, Kentucky, Maryrose Spresser of Paducah, Kentucky; brother, Bill Fox and wife, Debbie of Paducah, Kentucky; brother-in-laws, Ronnie Keeling and Mark Ashburn; sister-in-law, Nancy Stalion and several nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Ashburn; sister, Sharon Keeling and her parents.
 
Beyond her dedication to family and faith, Gail had a zest for life that was simply contagious. She was an adventurer at heart, always ready to explore new places and tackle the next big challenge. From hiking scenic trails to canoeing serene lakes, biking through the countryside and visiting historic landmarks, she filled her life with adventure, laughter and countless memories.
 
Her laughter was as radiant as her spirit, and gatherings with her expansive family were always lively with her stories and laughter. She leaves behind a legacy of love, courage and joy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
 
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2024 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church with Father Gary Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Dickerson Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
